Do your students know what they would like to do when they finish their education? Have they considered a career in museums and galleries? It takes a great number of people to run a museum organisation and the range of job roles is extremely varied. There are jobs in Education, Conservation, Administration, Finance, Retail, Communications, Art and Design, Exhibitions, Fundraising, Volunteering and Management.
This conference is designed to show your students the wide range of opportunities that could available be available to you. They will receive practical advice and information from museum staff. This will include information on gaining experience through volunteering, where to look for jobs and advice on applying. Practical workshops throughout the day will also give students first hand experience of what it like working in the cultural sector.
This conference is ideal for any student who may have an interest in the Creative Arts, History, Public Services, Travel and Tourism, or may be unsure of where their preferred qualifications may take them. It is open to all students in years 10, 11 and sixth form students, and would be ideal for students who are currently studying a related Vocational Qualification or Diploma subject.
Lunch will be provided for all delegates and refreshments will be available .
There are limited student places so please book as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.
Booking forms and further details can be found attached.
Best wishes
